Hey, Root! Today we're sharing with you the secret recipe for our famous Avocado Toast. If we had a Root Café, this would be our star dish. Let's be real, avocado toast is always a hit for breakfast. It's packed with proteins, healthy fats, and carbs to kickstart your day with all the energy.
So here's the recipe, which besides being delicious, is super easy and quick to make. Let's do
this!
Ingredients (for 1 toast):
Goat cheese (to taste)
Half an avocado
1 hard-boiled egg
Half a Eureka lemon
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Sourdough bread (we buy one with almonds that really gives it the perfect touch)
Extras (for the fancy ones):
Prosciutto
Steps:
Step 1: Make the hard-boiled egg
Boil an egg in a pot. Once it starts bubbling, count 10 minutes. After that, take the egg out of the hot water and put it in cold water. Peel your egg and get it ready. On to the next step!
Step 2: Prepare the avocado
In a bowl, mix half an avocado, your hard-boiled egg, and goat cheese (we add about 10g). Add about two tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste. With a knife and fork, chop everything into small pieces and mix it well.
Step 3: Prepare your toast
Toast a slice of sourdough bread and simply spread your avocado mix on top. And done! It's that easy.
Extra Steps (to impress):
If you want to look fancy, you can spread pesto on the bread base (here’s the link to the pesto recipe) and add slices of prosciutto. We also add a bit of jalapeño chicharrones on top. Yum!
