Ingredients:
7 grain boxed bread (Oroweat)
1 package (150g) goat cheese
4 eggs (for 6 stuffed breads)
1 Eureka lemon
Milk (vegetable or animal, we use light lactose-free milk)
Sugar glass
agave honey
Smoked Turkey Sausages with Cheddar Cheese (Johnsonville)
Dijon Mustard
Butter
Steps:
Prepare the Filling : Take a slice of bread and add crumbled goat cheese. Then place another slice on top like a sandwich. Using a fork, press the edges to seal the bread with the filling.
Prepare the Egg Mixture : In a bowl, beat the 4 eggs with a splash of milk (about 1/4 cup). Grate a little of the Eureka lemon zest over the mixture and beat well.
Soak the Sandwiches : Dip the filled breads in the egg mixture on both sides, making sure they are well coated.
Cook the French Bread : In a hot pan, melt a little butter and place the breads. Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Grill the Sausages : While the buns are cooking, make shallow cuts in the sausages and grill them in another hot skillet until golden brown and the cheese melted.
Finish the Dish : Once the French bread is ready, place it on a plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
Serve and Enjoy : Ready! Serve the French breads with a little agave nectar on top and accompany them with the smoked sausages. For an extra touch, add a little Dijon mustard to the sausages.
