French Bread Stuffed with Goat Cheese


Ingredients:

  • 7 grain boxed bread (Oroweat)

  • 1 package (150g) goat cheese

  • 4 eggs (for 6 stuffed breads)

  • 1 Eureka lemon

  • Milk (vegetable or animal, we use light lactose-free milk)

  • Sugar glass

  • agave honey

  • Smoked Turkey Sausages with Cheddar Cheese (Johnsonville)

  • Dijon Mustard

  • Butter


Steps:

  1. Prepare the Filling : Take a slice of bread and add crumbled goat cheese. Then place another slice on top like a sandwich. Using a fork, press the edges to seal the bread with the filling.

  1. Prepare the Egg Mixture : In a bowl, beat the 4 eggs with a splash of milk (about 1/4 cup). Grate a little of the Eureka lemon zest over the mixture and beat well.


  1. Soak the Sandwiches : Dip the filled breads in the egg mixture on both sides, making sure they are well coated.

  1. Cook the French Bread : In a hot pan, melt a little butter and place the breads. Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides.


  1. Grill the Sausages : While the buns are cooking, make shallow cuts in the sausages and grill them in another hot skillet until golden brown and the cheese melted.

  1. Finish the Dish : Once the French bread is ready, place it on a plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

  1. Serve and Enjoy : Ready! Serve the French breads with a little agave nectar on top and accompany them with the smoked sausages. For an extra touch, add a little Dijon mustard to the sausages.
